Things To Avoid When Emailing Your Opt In List

Filed under: My Articles — Stefani @ 5:13 pm

When you decide to build an opt-in list, it is not just a matter of sending your subscribers your latest specials or affiliate links. There are many things to consider it avoid many complications that could incur. While there are so many ways you can make people subscribe to your list, there are also some things you must do to avoid subscribers from wanting to unsubscribe from your list.

Besides making your subscribers mad, you also want to try to avoid any problems with the law and your internet service provider. Since spam is so common and such a problem, there are many laws and rules in effect that are applied to help protect the privacy of the internet users from spamming and unwanted mails. With the popularity of email because of the low cost, many companies have used this as an opportunity and have flooded many internet users with tons of unwanted promotional emails.

But, with an opt-in list, you avoid this annoyance because people subscribe to the list. They want to receive the newsletters and promotional materials you will be sending them.

In most situations, they have subscribed and also confirmed by email they want information from you. It is a good idea to keep your list clean and manageable.

Below are a few tips to remember:

1) Take notice of the unsuccessful emails or broadcasts that are sent. These would be the e-mails that bounce.

2) Always provide a way to unsubscribe in your mails. When someone in your list files a request to be unsubscribed, always take that request seriously. If you don’t take them off your list and keep sending them your e-mails, you are now sending them spam mail. You do not want to be reported as a spammer. Most of the mailing list service providers like Aweber and Getresponse will handle this for you. If you use a list that does not support the removal of users requesting to be removed, make sure that you remove them. It just isn’t worth keeping them.

3) Do not provide adult material or content in your emails. Since it can be hard to determine the age of the email recipient, many complaints may arise from these types of emails. Stay away from controversial issues too!

Enjoy

Blogging Basics

Filed under: My Articles — Stefani @ 8:59 pm

If writing is an art, blogging is could be defined as art too. The people who are really into blogging are the ones who are artistic in their own way. They carefully choose words that would best describe their feelings, sentiments, wishes, desires, and everything else. These types of blogs sometimes go rather well with the people reading them. They feel as if the know the author of the blog.

Basically, blogs were first introduced online as weblogs. This was in the mid 1990’s. They were referred to as “server’s log file.” It was created when web logging hit the virtual market. Web logging as it was called, gradually saturated the virtual community making the Internet a great source of information. However, with web logging, you still need a web site and your own domain. With blogging, you do not need your own website or domain. You just need to signup with a blog provider, which there are many that are free of charge. Don’t get me wrong, you can still have it all too. You can have the domain and blog in one package.

There are different types of blogs. You can have a personal blog or a business blog. I actually have a few of both. Business blogs are usually created to advertise the services or products of a certain web site or online business in order to increase their online sales. It is also a great way to add content to your website. Personal blogs are created for a variety of reasons. Like a journal, people can write their daily adventures, dreams, goals and whatever else they want to share with the world.

If you are thinking of starting a blog, whether it is personal or business, you might want to read the three tips below to start off on the write foot:

1. Consider your audience – Who will you be writing for. Who will be reading your blog. Even if you have a personal blog, thing about what is going to interest your readers.

2. A picture speaks a thousand words – Include images in your blog posts. People love reading blogs that include photos.

3. Make Your Blog Interactive – Be sure to allow for comments on your blog. When you get comments, be sure to respond to your readers.

Remember, a blog is what you want it to be about. There are no guidelines or rules. You set the rules. Just be sure to post to your blog frequently. Many times when you don’t update your blog on a regular basis, you will slowly loose your readers. Happy blogging.

A couple nights ago, I was righting a PLR article for an upcoming project I wrote and decided to put it on Ebay. Im thinking I should try to sell a package of articles, but it was late and I was tired so I put up just the listing for one article. I put my starting bid at $2.00.

No bids yet, if it doesn’t sell that’s okay because I will use it for the project I was planning.

Here is a link to the auction if you are interested:

The Advantages Of Mineral Makeup

Filed under: My Articles — Stefani @ 7:59 pm

There are a lot of women today who are discouraged from wearing makeup because of their skin condition. For some women, using makeup gives them problems such as clogged pores and acne. For those that experience these types of skin conditions try using mineral makeup. You can use mineral makeup with all types of skin. It is also suggested for those people who have rosacea and acne.

Some don’t wear makeup because they don’t like they way that it feels. Well mineral makeup has both a natural look and a natural feel. Mineral makeup uses ingredients that come from natural minerals and inorganic pigments that are available around us.  The natural mineral compounds such as mica, titanium dioxide, zinc and iron oxides are used widely in the manufacturing of mineral makeup.

It contains no harmful and synthetic ingredients. When you use cosmetics with synthetic ingredients for a long time, you’re most likely going to create wrinkles and spots on your skin. Mineral makeup has absolutely no chemicals, no artificial fillers or no dangerous dyes.

Using mineral makeup will not clog pores and is water resistant. It contains zinc content which helps to calm and soothe irritated skin. Those living in humid environments would benefit from this using it. You can also swim with it on. It can make your skin breathe more air and assist the body in providing extra skin growth.

Mineral makeup is easy to apply. You rarely need to reapply it and it provides excellent coverage. Because of absence of talc in the preparation, mineral cosmetics will help you in retaining the body moisture for a longer period of time.

It is a natural and effective sunscreen if it’s made with Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide. The SPF is around 10-20 depending on how much is applied. It is UV resistant and will stop dangerous rays from reaching your deep layers of skin

This kind of makeup contains NO preservatives. This means it has excellent shelf life. For those that like to budget and save money, you can now save money with your makeup. With mineral makeup, less is more. The colors can be used interchangeably for different uses. You can use foundation for concealer or concealer for foundation. You can also use the same colors for eyes, cheeks, lips and even nails.

Guess what? It is also proven to be an anti-inflammatory. If you are one that likes to go get peels, you can used this on your skin right after your peel is peeled. How? Well, it contains zinc oxide.

So now that you see the advantages of mineral makeup, why not start using it now? If you want to wear makeup but want to still be beautiful in your older years, mineral makeup might prevent those unwanted wrinkles to come.

Have you been blogging, but not too many people are visiting it? Are you waiting for those comments to come flooding in, but all you get is spam comments? I am going to tell you just a few things you can do, to bring in steady traffic to your blog.

Many new bloggers start a blog but get easily discouraged because they have no readers reading it. Well, the readers can’t read your blog, if they can’t it. They also won’t read it, if it’s not something they want to read.

My biggest tip I will give here is, give your readers something they want to read. If you write a post that people enjoy reading, they are going to reward you by coming back. Never forget that your readers are real people, make your posts conversational. When you are blogging, remember to keep each post to one topic only and include keyword rich words in your title. Be sure to post to your blog often. Search engines love blogs and if you are posting daily, your blog is going to be indexed by the engines even faster and more frequently.

My next tip, if you are looking for really large amounts of traffic, I would like to suggest optimizing your posts for the search engine. You will want to throw a little SEO into your postings. You can do this easily by doing the following:
1. Use your primary keywords in the title of your post
2. Use your secondary keywords in the body of your post
3. Use your keywords in your anchor text of links in the body of your posts
If you follow those three steps above, you have a better chance of your posts being properly indexed by the search engines. This means more traffic for you.

My next tip, submit your blog to as many directories as possible. If you haven’t done so, make sure your blog has a RSS feed. If you are using Wordpress, it will create a feed for you. If you don’t know much about feeds, visit http://www.feedburner.com/. You can submit your blog url and it will give you a RSS feed address to use. I use Feedburner with my blogs hosted on Blogger. When submitting your blog and RSS feed to directories, make sure you try to submit to the big directories like Technorati, Yahoo, DMOZ, MSN, etc. Here is a large list of blog directories you can submit to:
http://www.toprankresults.com/blog-submit-list.htm

My next tip, add a option to subscribe to your blog so your reader is updated by email when you make a new post. This is a great way to get readers to come back to your site. I use a service from FeedBlitz. You can signup for a free account at Feedblitz, then login to your account and grab some code to place into your blog template. In return, you are able to capture your subscribers names and email addresses. When you update your blog, all your readers will get an email letting them know. Don’t pass up this way to bring traffic to you.

My next tip, create inbound links to your blog. You can do this easily by visiting other blogs and posting comments. You can trackback to other’s blogs in your posts. If you have other blogs or websites, link to your blog within those. Basically, post your link to as many places as you can.

My last tip, ping ping ping. Make sure to ping your blog to as many as the services as you can. I use a free service at Pingomatic http://pingomatic.com/. At Pingomatic you can type your blog url, then select the service you want to ping. They have about 20 services you can select. This saves a ton of time because you can ping all the selected services at the same time.

Happy Blogging!
