For those that don’t know already, I am a work at home mom. I think from the blog logo above, you probably could already tell that. I was a mom of 3 until this year in January when I gave birth to my first son. This is also my last baby until the grandchildren come. That BETTER not come until I am OLD, LOL. I haven’t always been a work at home mom though.
In 1996 I became pregnant with my first daughter Ariyona. I worked full time at K-mart. During my pregnancy I decided I was going to find a way to make money at home. I knew at first I would just probably make some extra side money, but anything was going to help me. I started my first website that was about free stuff. After I had my daughter I took a year off but then had to go back into the work force. I got a good job that paid great money. I ended up working there for 8 years. The last 3 years there though, I only worked part time. I made money at home, but just couldn’t give up that job that paid me all the money that spoiled my family.
Well, one day my job made me upset. I had saying for the last couple years that I was going to quit once I owned my own home. I knew that being self employed and trying to buy a house might not be that easy. Well, they pissed me off 1 month after I bought my house. I quit and have never went back. I have never regretted quitting either. I do miss the money, but it can’t take the joy I have of working at home and spending my time with my family. I had finally reached two big goals in life. I had successfully bought my own home and became a full time work at home mom.

Why do I love working from home?
The best answer is the time I am spending with my children. I love being able to see my son every day and being there to see his first everything. Working my own hours is a plus too!

I became a mom a month ago, and last week I reduced my away-from-home work hours down to 12/week after my maternity leave. I work at home too, and it’s very worth it to be able to stay home with my baby.

Way to go Stay-at-Home Moms! It’s highly commendable to earn a little extra income as you nurture your children. I’ve been lucky in doing the same for the past three and half years. =-)
I’m working the eBay and Amazon thing, along with some new affilate marketing programs. The lifestyle affords me the opportunity to shuffle the kids to ballet, horse back riding and all sorts of summertime activities coming up.
Thank goodness for the opportunities we all have with today’s marketplace.
